Why You Should Pursue Your Dreams Now

Have you ever waited for the right time to say something, only to see the opportunity to speak up slip past? Or, have you thought of a great concept for a business but decided to wait for the right time to DO it – only to see someone else start a business and start living YOUR dream?

It’s really common to wait for the ‘right’ time to do something and later realize you missed your chance. It’s normal to want everything to be perfect when you go for a dream, the thing is, perfect is rarely part of the human experience, and when you wait for perfect, you miss your chance.

Another Opportunity Is Coming

If you missed a chance to ‘go for it’ on previous idea or even a relationship, know that other opportunities are coming your way. You just have to be ready to see them, and ready to act when the time arrives.

It’ll Take Too Long… Not an Excuse!

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard saying things about not going back to college because they’re tool old and it’ll take too long. The thing is, time is going to pass all the same. Same goes for starting a business. Making it a success is going to take a lot of time.

However, that time is going to pass all the same. Would you rather get to the end and look back with pride, or look back and wish you had tried. You miss 100% of the chances you don’t take.

What if you try and you don’t succeed? You can try again or start something new. Each failure is a lesson you can use a foundation to build success, it’s not an end unless you CHOOSE for it to be an end.

When the Idea Is Great but the Time Isn’t Perfect

Instead of focusing on what isn’t perfect, for example if you have a business idea and don’t have the money to start it in a big way… look for other ways.

Would it be great to open a big manufacturing facility to produce your ‘widgets’? Sure! Is it necessary to start big? Nope!

Hewlitt-Packard started in a garage. McDonald’s started with one small restaurant. The point isn’t always perfection or starting in the way you want to start. It’s starting or not starting. Period.

Start From Where You Are

The best advice you can get is to start from where you are. This is especially true for business ideas, but you can apply it to anything.

For example, if you have a great idea for fashion designs. Make a pattern and make one and put it for sale in an online auction or a social media group.

The pattern can be adapted until it’s just right. You can use the money from the one you sell to buy materials to make two. Sell those two and reinvest that money.

It isn’t a fast way to start, but it’s a better than what you’re going to feel if you see someone else making tons of money after THEY develop the idea you had.

Preparing for Better Health and Total Fitness in a New Year

A new year is like a fresh slate, at least in some ways, and it’s a great time to set some goals that help you start preparing for better health and total fitness.

Preparing for Better Health and Total Fitness in the New Year

To get psyched for achieving the goal of better health and fitness, think about where you really want to end up, what you can safely achieve; and then take a look at your fitness gear, both comfortable clothes and shoes, as well as exercise equipment, because looking good when working out and being comfortable boost your morale so you earn even more success.

Convenience Makes it Easier to Succeed

For any goal you set, make it easy to succeed. This works whether you are talking about fitness, your finances, your career, or your relationships (thought relationships are obviously harder to plan success into because you have to account for the feelings of someone else who may have entirely different goals.)

In the case of better health, if you find anything lacking, look for great deals and one-stop shopping when you’re buying new gear, like you find in your local Target store or on the company website.

Mental Preparation for Total Fitness and Getting Healthier

Be sure to check with your doctor before starting a new fitness program, and also, like I mentioned above, go ahead and get yourself psyched.

Changing your lifestyle takes work because habits become so ingrained in our lifestyle, even a small change can take big effort, and a lot of the time, that work is 99% mental work – getting and staying psyched for success.

The Slow and Steady Tortoise Won that Race

Be emotionally prepared for the occasional setback, a little setback is not a failure, it can just be your subconscious telling you you’re jumping in too fast – that you need to ease into your lifestyle changes.

Just like in the fable about the tortoise and the hare, sometimes the fastest runner gets tired out and ends up losing to the one who puts forth a slow and steady effort.

Your goal may be to get swimsuit-ready by spring if you are using weight as the basis for your goal-setting, but if that means crash dieting, sure, you could probably achieve that goal, but it also probably won’t last and can even damage your long-term health goals.

Set Some Goals, and Then Achieve Them

If you’ve browsed around the site and seen my older posts, you probably already know that I don’t like setting New Year’s Resolutions because they are too easy to forget – and I have my own version of planning for each new year – and you’re welcome to try it in your own life if you feel inspired; instead of making resolutions, I set goals and then start figuring out what needs to be done first to achieve my new goals.

  • Know yourself: Your goals can be anything that will make you happy, and in all seriousness, I have found I always achieve the ones I keep to myself and I almost never achieve the ones I tell others about. I used to think being accountable to others was the key to succeeding, but for me, it’s a sure way to fail.

So, I suggest looking back at your life during this time of introspection and goal-setting – and if you have a similar pattern – keep your new goals to yourself and quietly begin the real work of creating a new life story for yourself, one that includes success, better health, and total fitness – it’s no one else’s business anyway.

I would like to extend a special thank you to my affiliate sponsor for this post, Target, and if you need anything to get started on your path to better health and fitness, I invite you to take advantage of the links in this short article to get a jump on getting anything you need for your healthy new lifestyle – oh – and be sure to come back and let me know how it’s going or sign up for my free newsletter (the sign-up box is over on the right side of the screen) so my positivity boost emails can be delivered right to your inbox.

What Is So Great About Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill?

When I think about the books I’ve read that changed the way I think and feel about my life, one of the top ones is Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, and it can help you in your life, too.

Summary of Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon HillThe book, Think and Grow Rich was, for me, about more than just finding a way to improve my financial situation.

It opened my eyes to the possibility that everything that was weighing my life down could be resolved.

It gave me hope and it inspired me to make some big changes in my life and work.

Positivity Led Me to This Book

I had run across some of Hill’s positivity quotes and wanted to learn more about him and bought the first book of his that I found for sale – this one.

I wasn’t reading it to find out how to fix my finances, though they certainly needed fixing, I just wanted to see more of the man’s work.

While there is so much in the book that you can use to inspire positive change in your life, I feel the key takeaway (if I have to narrow it down to one main thing) is that learning how to communicate positive messages to your subconscious mind can, in fact, lead you to the tools you need to change your life.

The rest of the book gives you an in-depth summary of just how you can make it all work.

Why You Should Listen to Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill was given the idea for this book by Andrew Carnegie – the one who was so uber-wealthy and brilliant in business that business students still study him and try to learn how to emulate his business success today.

Hill spent the next few decades researching, interviewing other ultra-wealthy businessmen, studying, and putting the things he learned into practice in his own life.

What You Can Learn About Modern Day Success From an Old Book

It’s easy to glance at an old book like this one, published in 1937, and think that it doesn’t apply to modern life or creating success in today’s world since it’s almost 80 years old, but that  couldn’t be further from the truth.

The principles covered in Think and Grow Rich tap into principles that have been in play since human beings have been around, trying to find ways to survive and thrive in this world – and you can use those principles to your advantage in any part of your life – if you are ready and you choose to.
