Let’s Talk About the Science of Getting Rich

People have been struggling with issues of poverty and wealth since money became a part of our culture, and The Science of Getting Rich was written by Wallace Wattles in the early 1900’s as an answer – to help people struggling to overcome money problems.

The Science of Getting Rich

The Science of Getting Rich

Wattles explains in The Science of Getting Rich: The Original Classic,
that ownership of money and property are always the result of doing things a certain way, whether on purpose or by accident, and that those who do not do things in the manner described will never be rich no matter how hard they work.

What Won’t Make You Rich

While every advantage you can acquire is a positive thing, this inspirational self-help book explains that getting rich isn’t  based on environment, talent, thriftiness, or even doing things better than your competition does them.

So, What Is The Science of Getting Rich?

Now that you have been given the information that  getting rich isn’t based on where you live, what you know how to do, how good you are with money, or being better at things than someone else is – I bet you’re ready to hear what this classic book says will make you rich, right?

Using Science and Your Brain to Attract Prosperity

In a manner very similar to Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, which was published about 26 years after Wallace Wattle’s book, the science behind getting rich is using faith and the power of your mind to create and draw riches to you – using what is now commonly called the law of attraction to make yourself into a magnet for good things and prosperity.

This short review of The Science of Getting Rich gives you an idea of the book’s contents; though to fully understand the concepts explained by Wattles you should invest the time to read and study the book, put the concepts into play in your daily life, and then form your own opinions of the book’s value as a learning tool.

Positive Mental Attitude Quotes

Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone coined the phrase positive mental attitude, and the term has taken on special importance in today’s positive thinking movement.

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”                               – Thomas Jefferson

“No one is mocked with the yearning for that which he has no ability to attain. If he holds the right mental attitude and struggles earnestly, honestly toward his goal, he will reach it, or at least approximate to it.”  – Orison Swett Marden

“Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought.”  – Napoleon Hill

“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”  – Napoleon Hill

What have you done today – or what can you do today, tomorrow, and each day going forward – to develop your own positive mental attitude?

What Is So Great About Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill?

When I think about the books I’ve read that changed the way I think and feel about my life, one of the top ones is Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, and it can help you in your life, too.

Summary of Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon HillThe book, Think and Grow Rich was, for me, about more than just finding a way to improve my financial situation.

It opened my eyes to the possibility that everything that was weighing my life down could be resolved.

It gave me hope and it inspired me to make some big changes in my life and work.

Positivity Led Me to This Book

I had run across some of Hill’s positivity quotes and wanted to learn more about him and bought the first book of his that I found for sale – this one.

I wasn’t reading it to find out how to fix my finances, though they certainly needed fixing, I just wanted to see more of the man’s work.

While there is so much in the book that you can use to inspire positive change in your life, I feel the key takeaway (if I have to narrow it down to one main thing) is that learning how to communicate positive messages to your subconscious mind can, in fact, lead you to the tools you need to change your life.

The rest of the book gives you an in-depth summary of just how you can make it all work.

Why You Should Listen to Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill was given the idea for this book by Andrew Carnegie – the one who was so uber-wealthy and brilliant in business that business students still study him and try to learn how to emulate his business success today.

Hill spent the next few decades researching, interviewing other ultra-wealthy businessmen, studying, and putting the things he learned into practice in his own life.

What You Can Learn About Modern Day Success From an Old Book

It’s easy to glance at an old book like this one, published in 1937, and think that it doesn’t apply to modern life or creating success in today’s world since it’s almost 80 years old, but that  couldn’t be further from the truth.

The principles covered in Think and Grow Rich tap into principles that have been in play since human beings have been around, trying to find ways to survive and thrive in this world – and you can use those principles to your advantage in any part of your life – if you are ready and you choose to.

6 Inspiring Napoleon Hill Quotes From Think and Grow Rich

“The starting point of all achievement is desire.”

“Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought.”

Personally, I loved Think and Grow Rich, and I found information in it that led me to change far more than my financial situation for the better, and I wish I could quote the whole book to you – but that would be pointless since Napoleon Hill already wrote it.

Hello world!

“The starting point of all achievement, is desire.”

-Napoleon Hill: Think and Grow Rich

I love Napoleon Hill’s writings, so I wanted to lead with a quote from his work for the first real post on intrinsic Vicissitude.

The book the quote came from, is about financial prosperity, but the philosophy in the book can be applied to any part of life and anything you want to be, do, or have.

If you’re not happy with where your life is right now, and you want to rewrite your life story, then you have the first thing you need in your possession – desire.

I’m going to keep this post short, as most of my posts here will probably be – dropping one concept or quote for you to process quickly, because life is busy.

If you have time to read on, then browse through some of the other posts here on the site, leave a comment if you wish, check out the motivational books I mention, or suggest one of your favorites.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the site or anything.

Yours in intrinsic vicissitude,

Laure
