Releasing the Past for a Fresh Start

Have you ever wondered… when you get tired of living a life that doesn’t satisfy you, or makes you unhappy, why it is so hard to put it behind you, make a change, and move ahead to a healthier lifestyle?

Why Releasing the Past Is So Hard

“Everybody’s got a past. The past does not equal the future unless you live there.”          – Tony Robbins

As human beings, we often get stuck in patterns that repeat over and over in our lives.

These patterns can include unhealthy lifestyles, unpleasant relationships, and can even include the way we approach learning and matters of intelligence.

These patterns are generally formed in childhood and become reinforced in our subconscious minds as we interact with our families and peers.

They become so ingrained into our psyches that we are rarely even aware of them.

Only with a  great deal of inner-reflection and studying the human condition are we able to see and make lasting changes.

Even then, it is challenging to release the past and make a shift in our life-long personal paradigms.

Try Again With a Fresh Start

“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”  – Mary Pickford

Starting over is not always an easy thing to do, but the option is always there for you – for each of us.

You don’t have to allow things that are part of your life, making you unhappy, continue to be part of your life.

  • If you are unhappy about your weight, or your fitness level, it’s okay to start small, a short walk, a few stretches, dancing around the house to your favorite tune when no one is looking, as long as you start somewhere.
  • If you are unhappy in your relationship, you can seek counseling, either to save the relationship or to mediate a peaceful end to it, not to mention many other options available to you.
  • If you are unhappy in your work, but can’t afford to quit, you can check on taking classes and working your way to a new career – it may take longer if, for example, you can only take one class at a time – but as long as you are making progress – you will reach your goal and that is a positive thing.

No matter what changes you need to make to rewrite your life story and build a happier life, there are always ways to do it if you are willing to explore and find them.
